This section should feature a personal statement from the Fundraiser (that's you, the person making this page. If you're younger, you may want your parents to help). Tell the world why wheelchair basketball matters to you, in your own words. Do you have a personal story about wheelchair basketball and what it means to you? Share it here! And don't forget to add your profile photo on the left and another image at the top. If you have action shots, GREAT. If not, a picture with your teammates or your family with you in your uniform would look nice! You can also change the goal amount to fit what your personal goal is
Suggested starting text: I haven't been able to play basketball since March because of COVID-19. This game means everything to me and it really changed my life. Playing the game is what I love to do, and I hope I am able to do it again soon. I'm trying to help my team raise money so that when we can play again we have the money to go to games and tournaments. I'm asking you to help me and my team make it through COVID.
You may also want to add some specific goals you have:
- Number of wins
- Points in a game
- Shutting down your top competition
- Qualifying for Nationals (especially if you weren't able to go last year)
About The National Wheelchair Basketball Association
NWBA is one of the oldest and largest disabled sports organizations in the world (Established in 1949). What started as a way to serve Veterans with disabilities after World War II quickly became a sport for anyone with a physical disability. In 1993, the sport had just a handful of youth teams, but now has 85 across the country.
Proudly, the NWBA has produced countless champions and Team USA leads the medal count around the world. But, more importantly, the sport has created a chance for athletes to attend college and / or pursue a career. Doctors, Lawyers, Business Leaders, Teachers and Nurses, the NWBA has produced many talented professionals - our finest results.
Sadly, COVID has put much of this at risk. That is why we have created a tool and a campaign for our 225 teams to raise funds for when we are able to safely return to play. We hope you will consider helping us fulfill our purpose - improving quality of life for people with disabilities.
You can support this athlete and their team by donating directly, "sharing" the campaign or by going all in and setting up your own fundraising page to support your favorite team and athlete.

Thank you for your generous donation. Because of your gift, you are helping me and my teammates play the sport that we love. COVID-19 has made 2020 a really tough year, but getting back to playing the game will help us get back to normal.
My last request is that you please share my fundraiser with your friends and tell them why you supported our team and this great organization. Lastly, feel free to come back to this page to see updates on my progress.
Your donation is tax deductible: The NWBA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. We have existed since 1949 because of generous individual donors like you - I'm grateful!
A truly grateful Wheelchair Basketballer
